A new space for the kids...and kids at heart!
This basement development started in November, and with family coming into Calgary for Christmas there was no time to waste! It is a simple design featuring an open main area, a three-piece bath including standup shower, and and two storage areas for all the kids toys. Despite a few delays with material deliveries, and a few epic snowfalls, we managed to get the basement completed on time and on budget.
It features a Dricore subfloor that serves a dual purpose: preventing moisture damage (concrete is a big sponge, after all!) and making the floor surface substantially warmer on the feet. The doors and mouldings match the rest of the house, making the recently renovated basement fit seamlessly with the rest of their home. Our clients did however choose a lighter paint colour, which really helps to brighten up what can often be a dark part of the house.
